What is it for?
It is a successful method of on-going, on-the-job training that produces highly skilled workers with advanced career opportunities thereby promoting a more stabilized and prosperous local and national economy.
What does it mean to be registered?
If a company has a registered apprenticeship program, it means that they meet the standards of The United States Department of Labor in pursuing this model of higher education for the development of its workforce.
Is Double “S” Transport, Inc. approved by the Department of Labor as a registered apprenticeship?
What does that mean to me?
You may qualify for additional monthly income while engaged in the Double “S” Transport’s OJT (on-the-job training) apprenticeship program. As you progress from an entry level driver to a journeyman, professional driver, and your income earning capacity develops, you can be monetarily subsidized along the way through your G.I. Bill Education Benefits on a monthly basis.
How much can I earn?
As a qualifying veteran, you may earn up to $1100.00 monthly, tax-free, over and above your professional driver’s salary.
How do I qualify?
There are many potential avenues. For example, if you are a qualifying veteran, the United States Government will support your efforts monetarily. If you qualify within the guidelines of your local Workforce Investment Board within your state, they may assist you.
